LifeForce Research Project
Hi Matt & Greg, August 4th was a special day for me, not only was it my birthday, but it was also the 20th anniversary of my very first Excalibur graduation!! I was hoping to get to speak to Matt that day, so Matt if you find that you are up to it in the near future please call me at 831 277 1523.

I hope and trust that you are happy to be back in Cape Cod. Greg tells me he doesn't miss the chaos of S.F at all. In addition to just wanting to maintain my relationship with you two there is another reason I am writing.

No one seemed to pick up on it, but I remember at your going away party, Matt saying he didn't know what to do with us. At some point in the evolution of Matt's work, Life-Force was conceived of as an educational corporation. I would very much like to see that work continue and would like to contribute to carrying it forward.

There are a couple of big decisions coming up for me that may tie into this desire. This fall begins my last year at CSU Monterey Bay and so I will have to come up with a capstone project which is CSUMB-speak for thesis. I am a social-behavioral sciences major with an emphasis in history. I am considering researching the history of LifeForce, Radiant Light, Excalibur,et al as my capstone.

It is also near the time when I should start applying for graduate school. Of the three programs I am applying for the University of California - Santa Cruz doctoral program in the History of Consciousness is the one I most want. (It is also why I am the one who took the "A Secret History of Consciousness" book at your farewell gathering).

I have aligned my entire time at CSUMB with my Purpose in Life: to break down the barriers between belief systems and build bridges that support people along their own paths to meaning, healing and wholeness. As the main foundation for my work is your work, I would like to have a conversation with you about how I might research, translate and build upon your work in the remainder of my academic career and using it the centerpiece around which to build my graduate studies program.

I also wonder if you would be willing to write a letter of recommendation to UCSC History of Consciousness program for me. Normally, I think these letters are written by professors but I think in this case it is absolutely appropriate.

I hope to hear from you soon. I hope it goes without saying that if engaging with me this way puts any strain on your health you should not do it and I trust Greg to look out for your interests.

You changed my life.
Matt, Gods speed on your adventure east. I tell stories at my 12 step meetings of you and what great pieces I got from your tapes. The time you taught in my studio in Ashland "Zensho" and stayed in our home. I bought every book you had by your bed table. I remember you standing in our kitchen listing to my voice over cd, and you looked over at me and I heard you talking to me ,only you were not moving you lips. Thats the power and the gift you left me. You, my friend are a gift from a power greater than ourselves. Hope you still have the "Yoda".
